Plexus:
    lumbosacral plexus

Named Nerves:
    superficial peroneal nerve

    common peroneal nerve

    sciatic nerve

Proximal Attachment: 

Distal Attachment: 

Action: Primarily eversion of the foot, with some weak dorsiflexion.

Needle Insertion: Approximately four centimeters distal to the fibular hear with the needle directed medially.

Activation for EMG:   Have the patient evert their foot.

Pitfalls: If the needle is inserted too laterally the soleus will be sampled, too medially and extensor digitorum longus will be sampled.
