Glioblastoma multiforme, coronal section at level of posterior thalamus, labeled
Note the heterogenous appearance of the tumor. The dark regions on the borders of the tumor are hemorrhage. The tumor has grown rapidly, causing mass effect. The unnecessarily large blue arrow shows the resulting shift of the left cingulum across the midline. The degree of mass effect that has occurred is also apparent by the position of the corpus callosum, which is highlighted in green.
