Brainstem Glioma, transverse section
"Brainstem Gliomas" generally referred to diffuse fibrillary astrocytomas centered within the pons. These most often demonstrate anaplastic features, at least focally. In this case, we see hemorrhage and necrosis typical of glioblastoma multiforme.
