A description of the functions of different sections of the cerebral cortex. This includes (but is not limited to) the FrontalCortex.

By the end of this section, make certain that you understand what each of these terms mean, and can apply them appropriately. If applicable, make sure you can find each item on a whole brain, brain section, or image of a brain.

MRI Fluent Aphasia
This is a diffusion-weighted MRI image of the brain. The bright areas in this image represent regions of recent cerebral infarction. This person suffers from fluent aphasia (that is, Wernicke type aphasia) as a result of the ischemic stroke.

Right MCA stroke
This is a diffusion-weighted MRI image showing hyperintensity in the distribution of the right middle cerebral artery (MCA). This territory includes the right parietal lobe. People with damage to this area of the brain often suffer from neglect of the left side.
