Granular Atrophy, close-up view of surface of cerebral cortex
Granular atrophy of the cerebral cortex secondary to multiple small infarcts consequent to inadequate perfusion of distal vasculature. Rarely encountered today, granular atrophy was at one time seen in patients with long-standing poorly controlled hypertension.
