Inclusion Body Myositis H&E 200 with arrow
This is a preparation of skeletal muscle, stained with H&E. The patient has inclusion body myositis (IBM). H&E is not sensitive for diagnosing IBM. However, sometimes the rimmed vacuoles that form the inclusions can be seen on H&E, as indicated by the unnecessarily large red arrow in this image.
