This 42 year old male experienced sudden onset of fever, neck stiffness, and seizures. He became comatose and died 3 days later. The best diagnosis is:

 
        A) Acute (Marburg) multiple sclerosis
 
        B) Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis
 
        C) Balo variant of MS
 
        D) Acute hemorrhagic leukoencephalitis
 
        E) Schilder disease
