Pilocytic Astrocytoma, H&E stain x 400

Rosenthal fibers can be seen as refractile globular eosinophilic deposits within the solid portions of pilocytic astrocytomas. Ultrastructural examination demonstrates that they occur within the cytoplasm of the neoplastic astrocytes.
