NADH(TR) - normal muscle
This is a section of normal skeletal muscle, stained with a histochemical reaction based on NADH-tetrazolium reductase activity. As this enzymatic activity is found both on sarcoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, NADH is a sensitive marker for muscle fiber damage. Note the mosaic pattern of light (type II) and dark (type I) fibers, and the polygonal look of the fibers.
