Insertion: lateral approach to the base of the thumb, insert 1-2 cm in depth

Action: Abducts the thumb

Activation: Patient moves thumb perpindicular awas from the palm.

Pitfalls: Painful; If sampled too deeply the needle enters the opponens pollicis.
