Action: flexion of wrist
Needle Insertion: In the supinated forearm, midway between the medial epicondyle and the medial aspect of the wrist.
Activation for EMG:
Two methods of activation:
- Flex the wrist with an ulnar deviation.
- Abduct the fifth finger. (Have the patient spread their fingers apart)
Pitfalls: If the needle is inserted too deeply the flexor digitorum profundus will be sampled.
