Origin:  L2-3 roots, lumbar plexus

Recording Site:  Anterolateral thigh (bar electrode)

Reference Site:  Thigh (bar electrode)

Ground Site:  Thigh

Stimulation Site:  Iliac crest

Procedure:  The recording and reference electrodes (bar electrode) is placed 12
cm down from the iliac crest.  The stimulation site is at the iliac crest.

This nerve is very superficial.  The lateral femoral cutaneous sensory nerve should always be done bilaterally for comparison purposes.
