AKA:  Flexor digitorum sublimis

Abbreviation:  FDS

Brachial Plexus Trunks:
    middle trunk
    lower trunk

Brachial Plexus Cords:
    medial cord
    lateral cord

Named Nerves:
    median nerve

Proximal Attachment:  median epicondyle of the humerus (common flexor tendon) as well as parts of the radius and ulna.

Distal Attachment:  Phalanges

Action: Flexor of fingers (primarily at proximal interphalangeal joints)

Needle Insertion:  In the supinated forearm, the needle is inserted medial to the midpoint between midwrist and the biceps tendon.

Activation for EMG:  Flex the fingers at the proximal interphalangeal joints (PIPs)
