Muscle Name: extensor carpi ulnaris

AKA:  musculus extensor carpi ulnaris

    middle trunk
    lower trunk

Brachial Plexus Cords:
    posterior cord

Named Nerves:
    radial nerve

Proximal Attachment:  Common extensor tendon (lateral epicondyle), ulna

Distal Attachment:  5th metacarpal

Action:  extends and adducts the wrist

Needle Insertion:  Just distal to the midpoint of the ulna in the pronated arm.

Activation for EMG:  Have the patient extend the arm and deviate toward the ulna.
