Here, we are defining a "learning module" as a combination of:
- Pre-test
- Flash-based lecture or other multimedia teaching material
- Post-test
Mixing with Face-to-Face Learning
- Limited by duration of module
- Very brief modules: silly to have pre-test & post-test
- Longer modules: hard to incorporate into conversation
- Desire is to avoid quiet grumbling and resentment
Outcome:
- “The module itself was very good”
- “I like being able to go back if I need to…”
- Consensus: there are site navigation issues that need to be fixed
- Minimal difference between pre-test and post-test (ceiling effects)
- Difficult to trim module down to a duration that can be well mixed with face-to-face
