GFAP staining - Example of pathological findings
This is a sample of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). GBM is an astrocytoma, a type of tumor derived from or demonstrating features of astrocyte cell lines. This tissue has been stained using immunohistochemical staining for GFAP. Any brown in this image indicates the presence of GFAP, which is a marker specific for astrocytes, ependyma, or tumor cells derived from those cell types.
