Muscle Name: flexor carpi radialis

AKA:  musculus flexor carpi radialis

Abbreviation:  FCR

Spinal Nerve Roots:
    C6
    C7

Brachial Plexus Trunks:
    upper trunk
    middle trunk

Brachial Plexus Cords:
    lateral cord

Named Nerves:
    median nerve

Proximal Attachment:  Medial epicondyle of humerus (common flexor tendon)

Distal Attachment:  Bases of second and third metacarpal bones

Action:  Flexion and abduction at wrist

Needle Insertion:  In the Medial aspect of the supinated forearm midway between the elbow and wrist.

Activation for EMG:  Abduct the fifth finger or flex the wrist in an ulnar deviation.
