AKA:  musculus triceps brachii

    upper trunk
    middle trunk
    lower trunk

Brachial Plexus Cords:
    posterior cord

Named Nerves:
    radial nerve

Proximal Attachment:  

     Long head: Infraglenoid tubercle of scapula
     Lateral head: Posterior humerus
     Medial head: Posterior humerus

Distal Attachment:  Olecranon process of ulna

Action:  Extends the forearm

Needle Insertion:  With the arm flexed, the needle is inserted into the lateral aspect of the muscle located approximately 6 cm proximal to the olecranon.

Activation for EMG:  Extend the forearm.
