Brain Horizontal VHP

A horizontal (axial) section through human brain. If you move your mouse over the image, the cerebral cortex will be highlighted in green. The cerebral cortex is grey matter, that is, neural tissue with a higher concentration of cell bodies (also called somata). The remainder of the brain in this section (the not green part) is white matter. White matter lacks cell bodies, and has a high concentration of axons.
