Superficial siderosis, ventral surface of brain.
Superficial siderosis is an unusual condition resulting from chronic blood leakage within the subarachnoid space. Breakdown products of heme accumulate in the dependentleptomeninges and are toxic to Purkinje cells resulting in an ataxic syndrome.
