Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, horizontal section of brain through basal ganglia.
Patients with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura often demonstrate thromboses within distal small caliber vessels within the brain, leading to multiple microinfarcts and microhemorrhages often manifest as intractable epilepsy/status epilepticus.
